Over the last 20 years of my collective professional experiences from the board room to the wood shop, I've learned, grown and gained depth in my sense of self.
As I reflected on creating Oakham Mount Living and worked to define what this new project would be, I had one singular goal in mind - to inspire people and guide the experience of intentional living.

I'm a creative at heart. Regardless of the material or tools required I'm passionate about creating spaces and projects that inspire myself and others to live our lives with more intention and purpose. It has taken me years to fully lean into these ideals and shake the artificial constructs by which we choose define ourselves in society.
​
As a deeply spiritual person, I know that my calling in life is to bring people together and break down the barriers that we put in the way to achieving our purpose in our homes, families and community. Whether we share treasured recipes, root ourselves to the land, build or renovate inspiring spaces or learn something new, we're in this together.
​
My message is simple - all are welcome here, you are important and I can't wait to hear and share in your story.

My passion in life is interior design! My reasoning behind it, because I enjoy seeing others in an environment that reflects the people within it.

When I first started thinking about what I wanted to do with my life, I was told the only thing that mattered was finances. It made me think about being a pharmacist or some kind of mad scientist... I knew that’s not what I wanted at all.
I find drawing and being creative makes me who I am, but I didn’t want to do fine art, I needed something that was fulfilling for me and made me feel like I was creating something that can be functional and beautiful for the world to enjoy.
I needed the purpose that comes with design.

I grew up on a fifty-acre farm, surrounded by family. My grandpa lived in my house before we moved in when I was twelve years old, and my great grandpa and great grandma lived in the one next door. Now my grandpa lives next door and my three aunts next to him, and then my family! The farm is my favorite place to be with all the memories my family and I have created here. It will always be home to me.

I remember sketching floor plans of my mom’s dreams for this house at the kitchen table… she still asks me to this day when she has a new idea. I really found happiness in it, and I wanted to know everything about color, pattern, materials, architecture, craftsmanship and the list goes on.
​
It had a purpose for me, and I was putting my mother’s dreams on paper, to create a space where we can make more memories with my family all around.
